Amazon Associates
EV & Charger is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon is the default retailer for everything we recommend, and at the time of writing it is the only retailer we earn from — there is no other affiliate program active on this site.
How the links work
Every product link on this site passes through a resolver at /go/ before reaching the retailer. That resolver attaches our Amazon Associates tracking ID (imm-evcharger-20) and forwards you on. Three things worth knowing about it:
- It does not change the price you pay. Nothing about an affiliate link alters what the retailer charges.
- It tells Amazon the visit came from us, which is how the commission is attributed. It does not tell us who you are.
- It lets us change where a link points without rewriting an article — so if a product is discontinued we can redirect to a current equivalent rather than leaving you on a dead page.
The /go/ path is excluded from search engines (it carries a noindex header and is disallowed in our robots.txt), because it is plumbing rather than content.
What commission does not affect
This is the part that actually matters, because the incentive is obvious and the only useful response is to be specific about how it is managed.
- Commission rate plays no part in which products we recommend, or in what order they appear. The ranking basis is published in our methodology: fit for the stated use case first, then price, then warranty and support.
- Products are selected before any commercial consideration. The link is added after the editorial decision.
- We recommend cheaper products when they are the right answer. Roughly a third of our vehicle pages tell the reader to buy a smaller charger than they were about to, because the car's onboard charger cannot use more. The Jeep Wrangler 4xe page is the clearest example: it argues against the more expensive unit at length.
- We exclude products we cannot stand behind, including some that would pay us. Our methodology excludes brands whose North American support status we cannot establish, which removes most of the cheapest 48 A chargers on the market from our lists.
- Some of our most-read pages have no buy links at all. Safety and code pages are not monetized, because bolting a product onto trust content is worse than an unmonetized page.
Prices
Every price on this site comes from Amazon's live data and carries the date it was checked. There is no field in our content system where a price could be typed by hand, which is deliberate.
The price layer also has a 48-hour freshness gate: if the data stops being refreshed, every number disappears and every button falls back to “check price on Amazon”. We chose that over the alternative on purpose — a reader who sees no number has lost nothing, and a reader who sees a wrong one has been misled.
We also never state a rating or a review count as text. Those render from live data or they do not appear.
Per-page disclosure
Every page on this site that carries an affiliate link also carries a disclosure, both as a line beneath each buy button (marked #ad) and as a longer statement at the foot of the page. We do not rely on this page alone to disclose — the FTC's guidance is that disclosure should be where the reader encounters the link, and we agree.
What we are not
- Not a retailer. We do not sell chargers or hold stock. Every purchase is with the retailer, and warranty, returns and support are between you and them.
- Not an installer. We do not install chargers or do electrical work, and we have no service area. For installation, hire a licensed electrician.
- Not sponsored by any manufacturer. No brand has paid us, supplied us with equipment, or had any input into what appears here.
